Motown Edge is a premier weekend skating experience designed exclusively for adult skaters—whether you're a passionate beginner, a competitive freestyle skater, or an ice dancer with rhythm in your soul. Set in the Metro Detroit area, this three-day camp blends high-level instruction with the creativity, community, and fun that define the adult skating world.
With coaching led by Olympians Madison Hubbell, Elizabeth Manley, and Susan Jackson-Wagner—plus a dynamic team of specialists including Keiffer Hubbell—Motown Edge offers group on-ice training, off-ice workshops, choreography class, private lesson opportunities, and even a live performance by you!
The $395 camp fee includes all group classes, seminars, social events, and catered food throughout the weekend. Private lessons and freestyle sessions are not included in the base fee. Registered skaters will receive a confirmation email that includes a link to sign up for private lessons and reserve additional freestyle ice.

Ease into the weekend with optional private lessons available in the afternoon for those looking to get a head start on individual goals. Official check-in begins at 5:15 PM, followed by a dynamic all-skater on-ice warm-up session. Enjoy an upbeat Social Ice Dance session with plenty of professional dancers to help with pattern dances of all levels. The evening wraps up with a laid-back welcome mixer in the lobby—light snacks, great company, and a chance to connect with fellow skaters and coaches.
SATURDAY, MAY 31

6:45 AM – 6:30 PM
Our most intensive training day, designed to energize, inspire, and elevate your skating. Optional private lessons kick off the morning, followed by a full-camp off-ice block featuring yoga, a Q&A with elite coaches, and insights from a judge—served alongside a catered brunch. The afternoon includes rotating on-ice classes in freestyle and ice dance technique, plus off-ice training stations like the jump harness and movement workshops. Skaters come together for a camp-wide choreography session to learn a group piece, then finish strong with a life coaching session and motivational workshop led by Olympic medalist Elizabeth Manley—complete with light appetizers during the discussion.

Start your final day with optional private lessons before jumping into one last focused on-ice block for both freestyle and dance skaters. The group will then perform the camp choreography in a low-pressure showcase setting—open only to fellow campers and coaches. We’ll close out with a cool-down stretch and gratitude circle on the ice. A final chance to reflect, recharge, and head home with new skills, connections, and memories.

Note: Private lessons and freestyle sessions are available by sign-up and are not included in general registration. Sign-up for lessons and sessions will be sent after registration has been received and paid.

The full weekend camp is $395, which includes all on-ice group classes, off-ice workshops, catered food blocks, and social events.

Private lessons and freestyle practice ice are separate. Freestyle sessions are $17 per 50-minute session. Private lessons range from $100–$120/hour and are booked directly once registered.
We’re excited to offer harness training both on and off the ice! We’ll have coaches available for:
On-ice harness: both pole and stationary ceiling options
Off-ice: spinner-based jump harness training as part of the rotation

Full weekend registration is preferred, but a one-day option (Saturday only) may be available if space allows. This option would only be considered with a few days' notice before the camp, depending on availability.

All sessions are open-level, and coaches will offer modifications to suit a range of experience. Skaters are welcome to move between freestyle and dance-focused classes as they like—you’re not locked into one track. Choose what fits your goals, interests, or mood each session!
